randomness

I have almost finished one of the wedding favors (not the one that I need the monogram for---BTW-I'm still waiting on some submissions of your ideas to post next week). I have to admit, even though they're not my usual style of perfection, they are personal and I think they turned out nice (and they are so fitting for us and the "theme" of the reception!). Arthur gave me a hard time because I was trying to write a different message on the back of each one the other night and was asking him for suggestions. My guidelines were that I wanted it to be general enough that it could apply to everyone but specific enough to feel personal. I also was trying to keep from using terms related to attending the actual reception, just in case someone received one that did not come on May 31. So, he claimed I was making the brainstorming process very difficult. He was giving these outlandish ideas, which are normally funny to me, but when I'm stressing over details, I don't find it amusing. So, I gave up depending on him for creativity and relied on my good friend, the thesaurus. LOL

I think Arthur finally made the decision that the food provided at the reception will be desserts only. We're still holding our breath on the cake situation being resolved, and my Aunt Sandra (or Sandy as the kids call her) is making her famous candy for us. Arthur says she should open a business in Clarke Co called Sandie's Candies. We will enlist mom and other aunts, family members and friends to help out with providing some other desserts for the reception as well. So, it's ultimately just going to be a cake and punch reception with some other sweets for those who have really sweet tooths. Most of the "professionals" we talked to mentioned that a 2 pm reception doesn't need much in the way of food anyway. So, for all of you who read this thing and plan on coming, eat lunch before you come! :) (FYI-We picked 2 pm as a good time for those traveling. That gives everyone enough time to get in and out of town at a reasonable hour, although we will be working with Pam at North Park Inn and Suites if you want to spend the night.) Now, the plan is to host an after-party at Arthur's house in Tville for the close friends who want to hang out for a little while after the formal reception is over. (I'm hoping I can have it clean enough by then that people will want to come over! haha) So, we'll hopefully at least have some food with a little more substance for those who plan to stay til around dinner time. (That will be your reward for helping us clean up the Champion House!) ;) It will be nice getting to spend some time socializing that evening instead of having to rush off. Of course, we'll probably still want some "honeymoon" time that night, but I'm hoping it will be a nice, relaxing, enjoyable day spent celebrating with family and friends!

I think we will need some help setting out the food (presentation is very important to me you know) and replenishing the food and drinks for a couple of hours. So, if you know of anyone who would be willing to take on this task, let us know so that we can work out the details.

And if you have a comment to make in regards to any of my posts, please feel free to do so. I told Arthur the other day that if I didn't have a stat counter on here to prove that people looked at this page, I would think that I simply was writing for myself. So, leave me a note if your heart desires! It does make me feel loved you know! :)
