We have to be neutral

He's doing better than I am!!

Turner's weight was brought up on more than one occasion yesterday, but I joked with Arthur today that I think his size is what has helped him out the most the last two days! If he had been some puny 15 pound 6 month old, he might have ended up in the hospital! But the boy has been going strong today. He hasn't let some nasty swine flu get him down. His fever has stayed down today (with some help from Motrin and Tylenol), his appetite has been good, and he has pretty much acted like his normal self. Overall, I've coughed and sneezed more and sounded/acted sicker than he has. So, I think we're going to be ok. But I'll tell you this, for him to go from being a healthy child who had not been to the doc for anything but wellness checkups to being the youngest patient seen with swine flu is a pretty big jump and is enough to scare any new mommy to death! I'll let you know if anything changes, but after seeing him today, I think the prognosis is good. I feel much more optimistic today about it all. Thanks for all the prayers that were lifted up for our family!

H1N1--oh just call it the swine flu already!

Turner started running a fever today and tylenol wasn't helping it come down. So, to make a long story short, we took him to Dr. Frank in Tville. He tested positive for the A strain flu (which is the group that the swine flu belongs to). So, they sent off a test for swine flu to see if it is positive. I have been "hacking" the last few days but hadn't checked my temperature and really didn't think I was suffering from the flu, but I'm the most logical link to Turner contracting it. So, I'm being treated as if I have the flu and Arthur now must be treated to prevent him from getting the flu. So, I can't return to CPS, where most likely I picked it up, until Monday. Dr. Frank was a little worried since Turner seems to be the youngest candidate seen in Clarke Co for the swine flu so far. But considering Turner was still smiling and laughing and cutting up with the dr. and nurses this afternoon, the doc wasn't concerned enough to hospitalize the little one (yet!). So, we've got him on every medicine imaginable and are asking that you join us in praying that he recovers quickly! The word on the street is that this strain is really not that much worse than a normal case of flu, but as Dr. Frank explained, it is a little worrisome for the doctors when they can't predict what will happen next, especially in a 5 1/2 month old, when they've never had any experiences with this particular flu virus. So, we need to keep a close eye on him in the next few days. I'll keep you posted on chunky monkey's progress--hopefully it will be better news next time!

This story has funny parts

Turner's Aunt Noel got him a book about Biscuit's adventures. Turner thinks it's funny when Biscuit speaks...

tummy time

Everyone better take the time to thank my dear hubby for uploading pics for me last night! Here are some from Sunday afternoon's session. I will try to get around to uploading some more pool pics later. There are less of these so it won't take me as long to get them up here! After all, it is 9 pm on a school night ;)

I'll eventually get to it - updated

I have new pics that Arthur took this wknd and will eventually get to uploading them. There were too many that were too cute and I can't decide how to edit which ones make it on here. I don't have a lot of time now that I've taken a full time job teaching at Clarke Prep. But keep checking and I promise you'll see some new, precious stuff soon! We also have a couple of videos that we've taken recently, but those "dadburn" things take FOREVER to upload, so I don't know that I'll go to all that trouble...Oh, ok, I'll tease you with just one...

--UPDATE--
Hi folks. Hubby here. Since Yr Hmble svnt is the night owl of the fam, and since part of my day job is being a photo editor, Bridgett agreed to let me help her out here with a few selections. She may have more to add later, and we'll have fresh snapshots from Sunday afternoon up soon too.

5 months

Arthur took some shots of Turner yesterday since they were hanging out at the house while I was "tarting it up" for the last time at Big River. So, here's a photo fix for you junkies out there who were jonesing.
