bath time

It only took us two months to finally take pictures of Turner getting his bath at night. While greasing him down and getting him in his nightgown, we tried to get him to smile for the camera, but he really doesn't like to smile that much yet. He's such a serious baby. And a noisy one.

not very interested in A-Day game

Even though I dressed him appropriately for the occasion, Turner slept through the entire Alabama game on ESPN Saturday. But at least now you Bama fans can see the boy representing the right team! ;) My dad made a sign that we've put outside that I'll have to get Arthur to take a pic of. It says THE MCLEANS and underneath Arthur's name is in orange and blue, my name is in crimson and gray, and Turner's name is in both Auburn and Alabama colors! :) Arthur said instead of a house divided, we have a baby divided!!

Baby dedication

Mom crocheted a christening gown long before Turner was born, but since he ended up a boy and this looked a little too girly, we decided to go with a more manly outfit for the baby dedication. But we had to take some photos of him in the gown anyway. Mom says she's saving the gown for the next child, in hopes that it will be a girl. I tell her to keep on wishing! :)

The urn was a wedding gift from the hostesses of the Thomasville Baptist Church shower (or this one could have been from Donna since she bought one too so that we would have a pair). Anyway, the point is, Sandra Williams told us at the shower that she thought the cutest photo idea would be to put a baby in the urn. So, we tried out her idea! :) She was right! ;)

Arthur's mom and sister Noel were present at Horeb Baptist for the dedication so we took a pic with his family. And of course my dad, mom, and Jeff were at Horeb as well as my aunt Sandy, aunt Carolyn, and cousin Margaret with her 3 daughters. Only aunt Sandra was still at the church when we took our family photo though.

Not so great dr report today

I had to go back for my 6 wk postpartum visit today. Turns out I have a cyst. Dr. G said that right now if it wasn't bothering me, then it wasn't bothering him. He also had to up my birth control pill dosage because my old problems have of course reappeared. And my sugar levels were not good today when he checked them, so I have to go back to paying more attention to my diet and checking my sugar levels occasionally to see if I'm going to end up a Type 2 diabetic permanently. I'll go back in 3 months to be re-evaluated with all my issues from today.

We should have some new pictures to post soon, if we don't get crazy busy with baseball season photography first. Baby dedication stuff for you to see from this weekend......

Chunky Monkey

Turner earned another nickname today. One of the nurses at the dr's office kept calling him Chunky Monkey. Understandably so, when the boy already weighs 12 lbs and 2 ozs and he's only 5 weeks old. He's gained a pound a week since birth!!! At least he was a 1/2 in longer and his head was 1 cm bigger. He didn't fuss as much for Dr. Shearer this morning. Dr. S pointed out that he was off the growth chart in weight and at the top of his chart for his head circumference and length. He got his second Hepatitis B shot and did really well. He slept for most of the afternoon while mom and I did some easter shopping in Mobile. Nothing else really exciting to report from the dr's visit.....
